ClipboardFusion 2.0.1 Released!

June 7, 2010

I am very happy to announce the release of ClipboardFusion 2.0.1! I received quite a bit of feedback from the 2.0 release, and to my surprise the Macro feature turned out to be more popular than I imagined it would be. As a result, I have enhanced the Macro editor substantially for this release. It now has line numbers, a re-sizable text area and code syntax highlighting. You can also now use functions in the MacroAPI namespace, and download pre-made Macros from the new Macro sharing area. Another major change is the Clipboard History feature, accessible through the system tray menu. This simple feature just stores your last used clipboard text and allows you to quickly access it. There are also a number of important bug-fixes that help to make this version the most stable release yet!

I would encourage everyone to download version 2.0.1 today to take advantage of everything ClipboardFusion has to offer. Thanks everyone!

ClipboardFusion 2.0.0 Released!

May 14, 2010

The pricing information in this article is outdated, please visit the Free vs. Pro comparison page for an updated list of features and pricing.

I am very happy to announce the release of ClipboardFusion 2! This release isn't just a new version of the software, it comes complete with a new online service and a completely new website, located at The new online service is an optional service that allows you to share your clipboard between computers. Continue reading to find out more about the online service, as well as the other new features and improvements!

New Features and Improvements

The new ClipboardFusion 2 release comes with a couple of new features, but the existing features have also been improved as well. The Text Scrubbing feature now lets you scrub white space from the beginning and/or end of your clipboard text. There is also a new Text Scrubbing mode that requires you to double-copy some text before it is scrubbed. This way you can avoid scrubbing all the time, and you don't need to use any HotKeys or menu options.

There are now 9 HotKeys available, compared with 2 in the previous version. These HotKeys let you enable/disable ClipboardFusion features, scrub text and perform various operations with the new ClipboardFusion Online service.

Another new feature is the addition of fully programmable Macros. These Macros can be written using C# right inside the ClipboardFusion interface. If you need to manipulate your clipboard text in a way that ClipboardFusion doesn't support, just write a Macro to perform the operation. If you need help creating any Macros, just post a new topic in the ClipboardFusion Support Forum and someone will be happy to help you out.

ClipboardFusion Online

ClipboardFusion Online is the new online service behind the ClipboardFusion 2 release. This new service allows you to share your clipboard with other computers, and soon your mobile devices as well. Sync your clipboard items with the online service, then you have access to them anywhere you are. It is an optional service that is free to use for 2 months, and I would encourage everyone to give it a try. It is completely free to try out, with no obligation to purchase.

Update Today

Even if you don't intend to use the new online service, there are a ton of bug fixes that should benefit everyone. I would encourage everyone to update to the new version today and take control of your clipboard!

ClipboardFusion 1.5.0 Released!

January 18, 2010

ClipboardFusion 1.5 has been released! After 2 long years since the last version was released, a new version was a bit overdue. This version adds a ton of new functionality and fixes a bunch of issues. Along with the new features and bug fixes, ClipboardFusion has received a face-lift and now shares common icons with my other applications (like DisplayFusion and FileSeek) for a consistent look-and-feel. Here are some of the new features that have been introduced in this version:

  • Added an option to ignore empty HTML tags ("<>") when scrubbing HTML tags
  • Added an option to play a sound when scrubbing (comes with a default sound, but can be set to any .wav file)
  • Added an option to replace matching text strings with other strings (ex: can replace the special quotes from MS Office with normal ASCII quotes)
  • Added an optional HotKey to scrub the clipboard
  • Added an optional HotKey to toggle automatic scrubbing on/off
  • Added the ability to not scrub text put on the clipboard by certain applications (specify the programs on the "Ignore Programs" tab)

If you would like to see the full list of changes, please visit the ClipboardFusion Change Log. Thanks everyone!

ClipboardFusion 1.4.0 Released!

February 25, 2008

I am very happy today to announce the release of a re-born ClipboardFusion. ClipboardFusion started life as Clipboard Text Scrubber but has turned into so much more than a text scrubber. While ClipboardFusion can still scrub text of any unwanted formatting and remove HTML tags, it can now also show a helpful clipboard popup. When this feature is enabled, if you copy an HTML colour name or hex value to the clipboard a popup will appear that displays that colour. Very helpful for all of you web designers out there. Another thing the popup can do is show you a preview of any image contained on the clipboard. For example, if you press the "Print Screen" key to take a screen shot, the popup will display the image. Next, if you want, you can right-click on the popup and save that image to your computer without needing an image editing program.

I would invite everyone to head on over to the ClipboardFusion page to find out more information.

Clipboard Text Scrubber v1.3.1 Released

August 15, 2007

I have posted a new version of Clipboard Text Scrubber. This is a quick bug fix release, to clear up a couple of small issues. Here's a rundown on the changes:

  • Fixed a bug that would cause the "Clear Clipboard" menu option to not do anything
  • Fixed a bug that would cause an infinite loop (Thanks to Carsten on the Forum for finding this bug)
  • Changed the icons (again) to something with more contrast

I recommend that anyone using an older version of Clipboard Text Scrubber update to the latest version today.

Clipboard Text Scrubber v1.3.0 Released

August 6, 2007

A new version of Clipboard Text Scrubber has been released into the wild. v1.3.0 fixes an annoying bug that caused too many notifications to be shown, even when the clipboard hasn't been changed. Now, you should only receive a notification about the clipboard being scrubbed when it actually has done something. For example, copying text to the clipboard in the Notepad application will no longer cause a notification, but copying text from Microsoft Excel or Word will, because it really is being cleaned.
