What kind of settings should be made in clipboard fusion in order to increase the writing life for those who use ssd, it writes 30 gb of data on each on and off clipboard fusion although the clipboardfusion.db file is 3.21 gb

Thanks for sending that over. If you don't need the clipboard history, can you try clearing it and then restart ClipboardFusion, and check the size of the database? If it's smaller, can you restart a second time and check how much disk activity is happening?

Thanks!

I cut the 3.21 gb size file, I create a 0 size database for backup purposes, but why is it writing on the disk 8-9-10 times, what settings can I make to make clipboard fusion smaller

We took a look into this and we have an idea on where those writes are coming from, so we've added it to our list to look into. We'll let you know if we have any news on this going forward.

Thanks!

ethylqs_Des4z9mA76Qeljf created temporary files, these are automatically deleted when clipboard fusion is loaded 14.07 gb here has disk writing

clipboardfusion.db-journal file is deleted after writing 3.61 gb disk

The clipboardfusion.db database file is writing 3.25 gb disk but the file is not deleted because the database file

It is writing 21 gb disk, ssd lifetime protection settings for 3.25 gb database file will come out quickly, I'm waiting

The ssd is dying, dear programmer, is there a tiny little change? Good luck with ::)

It looks like we should have this fixed up for our next beta, so we'll let you know once it's released.

Thanks!

We've released a new beta with some added changes. Can you try updating and let me know if the issue persists?

Thanks!

I downloaded it now I installed it I will tell you how much of a change it is in size in gigabytes
Isn't that the change?
Fix: Copying image files from File Explorer no longer causes the history database to grow by large amounts
may be true, hope it works

Was that from the first time you launched ClipboardFusion after updating? Does it continue to climb if you restart ClipboardFusion?

Thanks!

It reaches the same amount of data writes in both ways

Strange, I've been testing with that same program on my end but it doesn't seem to read any data being written with Beta 4 on launch. I've been testing with the following steps:

1) Open SsdReady and clear the collected data via Menu > Clear Collected Data
2) Exit ClipboardFusion
3) Start SsdReady
4) Open ClipboardFusion
5) Check the Processes tab in SsdReady

Are you testing the same way?

Thanks!

If you don't need your history, can you clear it and then run the vacuum (ClipboardFusion Settings > Clipboard History > Vacuum), and confirm that the database file size is smaller after doing that?

Can you also set the Database Cache Mode in the Advanced Settings to 2, and then follow those steps again and see if the issue persists?

Thanks!

If I upload the database here, wouldn't it be easier if you could solve the problem?

Thanks for sending that over. This is likely due to the size of the database already being so high. If you clear it out and run the vacuum, and then adjust that advanced setting, new copies should be quite a bit lower.

Thanks!

4 gb database logically does not need to write to 4 gb ssd, is it an abnormal change to write more data at the maximum?

The SQLite library is loading the database into a cache on disk when ClipboardFusion starts up and reads the rows because the database is so big. If you want to keep the existing history database but reduce the disk writes, you can set the Database Cache Mode advanced setting to 2 and restart ClipboardFusion. That will tell SQLite to cache it in memory instead of on disk. Please note that you'll need to make sure you have more than 4 GB of free memory available to do this.

Clearing the history and doing a vacuum will reduce the database size to around 2 MB, and any new files you copy will not cause the database to grow so big as we have fixed that issue in the beta as well.

Database Cache Mode 2 is done
Is there a way to easily delete images in the database or large rows?
Can I merge the 2 databases or can you do it?

If there is a boss database editor, let me quickly delete pictures and things that take up large size with multiple selection. It is very difficult to remove one by one and it is a waste of time if you have a program, it would be nice if you could send an editor.

you might have a look at https://sqlitestudio.pl/. I have used it in similar situations to the one you describe.

CAn't help you with that, sorry. That's a support question.

The other examples I referred to was a similiar case but not with Clipboard Fussion.

The Devs may share that password, then they may not.

I've attached a script below that will remove all images from the history. Please note this is not reversible, so you may want to make a backup of your database first.

Your database is encrypted for added protection, but we can't hand out that password.

I ran the macro you prepared, it doesn't show in the clipboard history, but it doesn't delete it from the database in terms of size, the database size has not changed 4.08 GB database size

You'll need to run the vacuum found in the ClipboardFusion Settings > Clipboard History tab to reclaim the space after deleting those entries.

What is this "Vacuum" ? I guess I never see it becuase I always run Clear Clipboard Contents and History often. I wish there were a single option to clear it all.

It's just a way to manually clean up deleted space in the history DB. When you say you want an easy way to clear everything, do you mean current clipboard contents and clipboard history at the same time? Or are you wanting to clear the other pinned and online lists as well?

Increasing the number of items in the clipboard history from 9999 to 99999 is not enough for me.

do you mean current clipboard contents and clipboard history at the same time?

Yes, though display a prompt.

are you wanting to clear the other pinned and online lists as well?

Yes, even though I do not use online or sync. I am sure others would appreciate this option. Prompt. I believe 'pinned' items ought to be left alone entirely, they're there for good reason.

@Ben_: Do you want the prompt to be initiated through the settings window or clipboard manager window? Or would a macro that is run via hotkey or from the macros list in the clibpoard manager work for you?

If a macro works, here's the code for the macro:

Code

// Clear the clipboard
BFS.Clipboard.Clear();

// Clear the history list
BFS.ClipboardFusion.ClearHistory();
