A couple days ago, I chose to paste an image that had been copied to the clipboard on a previous day, which was several entries back in the History, from the Clipboard Manager into Microsoft Word. When I selected the image from the entries in the Clipboard Manager and hit Enter on it to paste it into Word, ClipboardFusion crashed. When I relaunched ClipboardFusion and tried again, it then worked. So I don't know what the steps to reproduce are, but just wanted to make you aware that CF 6.4 Beta 6 can crash when pasting images from the History, and cannot be considered fully stable.

We'll try to reproduce this here. Meantime, could you check the following folders and let me know if there are any ClipboardFusion crash dump files there? If so, could you send them over so that we can analyze them?

  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\Binary Fortress Software\ClipboardFusion\CrashDumps
  • %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps
Thanks!

The first path doesn't exist, and the second path contains a 11MB file called ClipboardFusion.exe.19912.dmp with a timestamp that probably matches the time of the crash.

Presumably you'd want that by email? Bit reluctant to send it though, as presumably it would contain content from my clipboard history.

If you zip it up it should be small enough to send by email, or if you send us a support case via email, I can give you a Dropbox link to drop it in. It may contain the contents of the clipboard history but we don't really care about that and likely wouldn't even need to access that part of the dump, we just need to follow the call stack to see which function it crashed on.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue here after trying the steps about 20 times, so it will be difficult for us to troubleshoot further without the crash dump, but I do understand if you're not comfortable sending it.

Thanks Keith, I'll consider emailing the dump if necessary. In the meantime, I had Grok Build do a deep analysis of the local dump file. Note that I have a trigger in ClipboardFusion that automatically shows the Preview Popup whenever something is copied to the clipboard (thus explaining why the analysis shows that the crash happened when automatically invoking Show Preview Popup). Please find attached a PDF of Grok's analysis and findings. Let me know if this helps.

I'll pass this over to our devs so they can take a look at it.
