I have many macros, and there are too many for me to assign keyboard shortcuts to, so I rely on the macro menu, which I access with a keyboard shortcut, to conveniently run my macros.

Right now, the macros are organized alphabetically on the menu, and the first ten can be run just by pressing a number 0-9. I wish there were a way to pin my favorite macros to the top in a custom order. For now, I have just been renaming the ones I want up top with a digit as the first character. This is okay, but it would be more elegant if their names could remain as is, rather than 10 of my macros having a different naming convention than the others.

My solution is to rename the/your top-ten macros preceded by a dot or double dot.
So for me not necessary to change anything. Alphabetical is ok.
And should it be otherwise, make a user setting to keep the alphabetical solution.

And if you want to force [1], [2] et cetera, you could precede the macro [1] with 10 dots, [2] with nine dots and so on. For the time being
