Like the title says, whenever I try to locally pin clippings, they disappear when ClipboardFusion is shutdown then re-started. I've had to resort to using the Online Pinned option, but this apparently causes a startup delay of 3-5 seconds, I'm guessing this is caused by ClipboardFusion having to connect to my online account and retrieving my Online Pinned items.

Is there a setting I need to configure to make locally pinned items survive restarts? Thank you.

That's really strange! It should keep Local Pinned Items on restart by default, and there isn't an option to make it clear them on every restart either.

Do the Local History items also get wiped out when you restart ClipboardFusion?

Local History items do not get deleted when ClipboardFusion is shut down and restarted. I don't remember this happening when I first started using ClipboardFusion awhile back.

Ok, that's extra weird! The history items and local pinned items are stored in the same file. Could you backup your ClipboardFusion Settings (Settings > Options > Export Settings) and attach them so I can test with your settings here?

Thanks!

Do you want me to add some items to the Locally Pinned tab before exporting my settings? I will attach an exported settings file with and without Locally Pinned items, just in case. Thanks.

Oh, am I supposed to attach the .reg files or the .db files that are created when I export my settings?

The .db file will be needed for both exports. Each one should have it's own .db file. Can you leave the file names as default as well? It chooses the correct .db file based on the file name of the .reg file.

Thanks!

Thanks! I was able to reproduce this issue here with your settings! I've added it to our list to fix up. In the meantime, I'll see if there's a setting there somewhere that's causing this to happen and keep you posted if I find a workaround.

If you don't need anything in the Clipboard History tab, can you try this?

  • Exit ClipboardFusion
  • Open File Explorer and go to %localappdata%\ClipboardFusion
  • Delete the clipboardfusion.db file, and any .cfcache files in that folder
  • Start ClipboardFusion
  • Add some local Pinned items again and restart, do they stay now?

There was no .db file in my %localappdata%\ClipboardFusion folder. I did what you told me, the Locally Pinned items disappeared after I restarted ClipboardFusion. I even tried re-installing ClipboardFusion, the problem persists.

I don't want you to waste any more time on this. I'll just use the Online Pinned clippings. Thanks for trying!

Ah sorry, I think yours is in D:\ClipboardFusion\Database Files, according to your backup. If you still want to troubleshoot further, can you check there and try deleting the clipboardfusion.db file from there? (exit ClipboardFusion first)

@Keith Lammers: I deleted the .db files in the D:\ClipboardFusion\Database Files folder; my Locally Pinned Items are no longer disappearing! Thank you for your help!
