Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with a macro that is supposed to launch msedge.exe with specific parameters. However, when I execute it, nothing happens; additionally, when I try to run msedge.exe from within the macro editor of the software itself, it also does not launch. My actual version is 6.10.

Could you please help me troubleshoot this issue?

Thank you in advance. Best regards, vAlberto.

See attached macro. No idea about what you want in the end, but this macro will run MS Edge and visits this website. Further programming is upto you for what you are looking for.

Hi C# Clouseau! Thanks for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay. I've been testing on 2 other computers, and I don't understand what the problem is because everything works as usual on both. The PC where it's failing has Windows 11. I'm going to try reinstalling ClipboardFusion and see if it works.

The problem is that I have a lot of macros using my amateur script

Code

"BFS.Application.Start("C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe", parameters);"

My code is working neither? It could be same problem as this one: https://www.clipboardfusion.com/Discussions/View/error-on-running-any-macro-code/?ID=019647a8-3b14-7340-bdb0-a190f88dae79

Hello again! I've already run the tests. Your code doesn't work either. I've tried reinstalling ClipboardFusion 6.2 and also 6.1, and the problem persists.

I think it must be something related to the permissions with which ClipboardFusion launches applications from BFS.Application.Start(...), and especially because it came with a Windows 11 update.

Regards

Can you try re-installing the latest version of .net from here and then reboot, and see if the issue persists? https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/thank-you/runtime-desktop-8.0.15-windows-x64-installer

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work. The problem is still exactly the same as before updating .NET to 8.0.15.

Is it throwing an error if you verify the script in the code editor?

I'm getting an error message in Windows, not in the ClipboardFusion error console... It's translated from Spanish as follows: "Microsoft Edge is not responding because an existing instance is running with elevated privileges. Do you want to restart the existing instance with normal privileges?"

If I confirm the restart option, it doesn't do anything either.

Thanks!

Can you send me the Windows build version of the computer where it doesn't work, and the computer where it does?

Hello friend! Thank you so much for your attention. I love this software. It really makes me super productive because I have some programming knowledge, and my macros are incredibly useful for my workload and my computer flows. For example, I can't use a macro that's a URL launcher that collects web page paths from a text file and displays them in an input list with your search engine. Not to mention the web addresses I was able to launch with a simple key combination (it's going from spending 20-30 seconds to 2 seconds; after a day it's a huge advantage).

I hope you can find the error...

OS: Windows 11 Pro
Version: 10.0.26100 Build 26100
PC: Geekom Mini IT13

I have the application running on another unbranded PC, with Windows 10 Pro and it works perfectly fine, just like on the Geekom previously.

Best regards!

Are you logged into a non-admin account on the computer that has the issue?

Hello again! Yes, I use a non-administrator user, now and since I launched my Geekom i9. This user was the one who installed ClipboardFusion Pro from day one.

I was able to reproduce that here on a non-admin account as well, we'll add it to our list to look into.

Thanks!

Hi! I just installed a Windows 11 Pro update, reaching version 24H2, build 26100.4351, and everything is back to normal...

ClipboardFusion launches Microsoft Edge again without any issues.

I'm sharing it here in case anyone is impatient for a solution like I was.

Best regards
