Can the Preview feature be disabled entirely - it's driving me nuts.
I'm not even sure I had them until the last couple of days - yet there's been no update. My impression is that I must have pressed a keyboard sequence to turn them on.

See attachment - if that's the one you're referring to its been unchecked for 'ever'.
Also, is there anything I can do to prevent CF hijacking the Windows Snip and Sketch tool when I have its Settings window on screen.

Actually its the PrtScn key that gets hijacked, but I always forget that

When the Settings Manager is running it 'hooks' the Prtsrn key which means i don't get the Windows Skip-and-Sketch (S'nS) popup. You need to add a setting to disable that and I need to remember that's what it does, I can still use S'nS via its Shift+Win+S hotkey… if I remember what CF does
