Hi

Running the Trial version and encountering a repeatable crash whenever I hit the 'Add' button on the 'Ignore Programs' tab of Settings.

Tried closing other programs (including DisplayFusion Pro) but CF still falls over every time I click 'Add'. All other CF functions seem to work OK.

Any ideas?

(Win10 1803 Home)

UPDATE: Just installed CF on my laptop and the crash also happens on that installation too.

Is it crashing completely, or just hanging and you're manually killing the process?

Hi Keith - It's hanging and 'Not Responding'.

Thanks.

If you wait a couple of minutes, does the Select Application window eventually open?

Hi Keith, yes I waited 8 minutes and the process select window popped up. No patience me.
A thought though, I still had to click the Browse button and select the wanted .exe manually. Instead of waiting be nice to have the Browse button as an earlier option instead of the confusion waiting for CF to collect the process information.

Thanks for your help.

I would like to confirm this same problem. Windows 10 Home 1803.

I installed the software for the first time this afternoon. It has unwanted behaviour in Excel (maybe other programs too) where "cut" (CTRL+X) no longer works. So I tried to disable clipboardfusion for MS Excel, and had an immediate crash when I tried to access the "Add" button in the Ignore list.

*edit*
Ignore for Excel is very important - I have other side effects, such as copying cells with formulas in, just for the cell value to be copied, and the formulas lost. When I disable clipboardfusion altogether, Excel behaves normally again. This is actually quite dangerous, because spreadsheets (which might be critical workflows) are being accidentally damaged by clipboardfusion. It should be ignored by default!

Thanks, found that in settings, now disabled, and it appears Excel is working normally again. I suggest Trigger Command should be off by default, or disabled for Excel (and possibly other apps).

I think it is a really important philosophy, that when someone installs a utility, that is doesnt "break" other software, and then the perhaps-non-specialist user has to identift the problem and discover a solution. Please make clipboardfusion a "SAFE" install, and allow people to use your software without risk. Advanced users can then turn on certain additional features as they require, with a warning sign that those features can break usual behaviour of standard software like MS Office. :D

On a positive note, thumbs up to clipboardfusion :D

Thanks for the feedback! We'll have the slow select application window issue fixed up for the next version, and we will definitely consider a default blacklist, or disabling the Triggers by default for the next version as well.

Thanks!
