Is there a way to write a macro that copies selected text if the clipboard is empty, then pastes it with a second press and clears the clipboard afterwards? I tried doing an if statement and was unsuccessful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could you give the attached macro a try? Note that it will copy the selected text if the clipboard is empty, or if it contains something other than text. So if you copy an image, then run this macro on some text, the image will be cleared from the clipboard and the clipboard will now contain the text.

Hope that helps!
