If it is overkill or not should be the decision of the user. Maybe the user has a photographic memory and he can cope with even 1000 entries. So, every user will customize the program according to his capacities. I don't see why the devs should limit him.

Apart from that, why 40 characters is the limit of the manager to show. Why not more? And why is all the words arranged in one long column (you have to scroll up and down)? Why not many columns?

OK, my idea is that freedom for the user to choose should be 'fully' implemented. But if the devs cannot do this, at least increase the limits and implement more columns (so, we are saved from scrolling). Say, 1000 words for the manager to show. 1000 is a good number if you want to limit.
