FWIW I found a lot of the default "smart" behaviour default a bit scary. Automattic pasting of content when you're not expecting it can have rather unexpected results! In fact anything which departs from the default clipboard behaviour can be rather unsettling.

So in the video I start with the first situation and secondly the 'last window' thereafter. In Settings-[Clipboard History Options] “Auto-paste on Quick History Select” is disabled. And “Auto-paste on Local Pinned Select” is disabled as well. However, when History List is (hotkey) selected and /or Pinned List, nevertheless selecting the item thus putting the mouse cursor on the item and click it will paste it. ]]>
