Sorry to say I have also noticed that the delay in pasting is now back in the 5.9.1 beta.
The delay happens selecting using both the mouse or keyboard.

I went back to 5.8.6 and the issue went, no matter how many times I selected an item it pasted immediately.
Did check for updates & let it install 5.9 beta 1 and the issue returned.

Only tried with text before, just tested with a small image and get the same delay.

Once it's in Windows the clipboard it pastes with Ctrl+V instantly as usual, it's just from the clipboard manager.

Doesn't matter what program it was copied from, or being pasted to, nor if I select with the mouse or keyboard.
