We do have a feature request for an option to make it paste the first item automatically, so I've added your vote to it

There is a feature "Auto paste on history menu selection" in "Clipboard History" tab in stable 4.2 release. For some reason, I am unable to use it in Beta Release.

Suppose I set Ctrl + Alt + V for "Show history item with first history item selected". In beta release, a dialog show but I have to press an additional Enter now.

Earlier I used to do Ctrl + Alt + V + V + V... then release Ctrl + Alt and the selected item used to get paste. I don't want to delete all entries. I just want to automatically delete the history items that are more than 30 minutes old in the background (for privacy reasons). Current option seems to delete everything or nothing after x minutes.
