As well as the title, DF's system tray wont show any icons beyond base WIN11 icons. The only 3 I see are mic, network and Audio. The up arrow to "show more" is there, but it opens window's system tray show more box on the other monitor, which is the main with the stock taskbar. My monitors are dual PG34WQ15R3A Ultra wide screen monitors, if that makes any difference. I've already gone through enabling and disabling taskbar hooks one or more at a time to see if anything had an effect, none did. I've looked through log files going from minimal to "All" but other then seeing the WARN tags in the log I can't discern what means what. Another concern I've had is DFs taskbar will randomly corrupt the saved data on my pinned items and I will have to use a .reg backup to restore them. (FIY, it would be a good idea to add a manual backup for such things IMO)

If anyone has ran into this issue before, I hope there is a solution that I've just overlooked. Log attached,

2. Yes, I use buttery taskbar to get rid of the last bit of the Windows taskbar. But it doesn't mess with displayfusion automatically so I'm not sure it'd be causing it. For example right now it works fine and I have both running, and when the DF one glitches the Windows one still shows normally

5. League of Legends. I've tried to add in compatibility rules for every executable path shown in troubleshooting window to be treated as fullscreen but the taskbar still shows up. Neither the client nor the actual game windows prevent taskbar from showing up. I just tested the client to see if it was affecting the wrong program instead, I just care about the main game which is in borderless.

Hi all,

Apologies if this has already been covered, I’ve done a fair bit of searching and found several threads on taskbar behaviour but nothing quite matching my scenario.

I’m running an ultrawide monitor split into three regions using DisplayFusion, with multi-monitor taskbars enabled. The centre taskbar is my primary (Start menu, system tray, etc.) and the left/right taskbars are used mainly for pinned shortcuts via DisplayFusion.

The issue occurs when exiting a fullscreen application (in this case a game that does not support borderless windowed mode). Upon exit the taskbar briefly reverts to a single full-width Windows taskbar, then DisplayFusion restores the three split taskbars after a short delay. Also when the taskbar temporarily reverts to full width the pinned DisplayFusion taskbar shortcuts still appear in their left/right positions.

Is there any way to prevent the taskbar from reverting to a single full-width bar on exiting fullscreen or keep the split taskbar layout persistent?

Thanks

I thought the issue was fixed as I had a few days with 0 issues but it did occur again today:

Streamlabs Chatbot didnt launch on its pinned icon and doesnt display the correct exe name.

Elite Observatory HAS the correct EXE name but didnt launch on its pinned icon - this one is slightly different though, as it initially launched on its icon, then the program opens a progress bar and that seems to trigger it to move to a new taskbar icon - this hasnt happened previously though, seems to be a new symptom but repeatable.
Attached a video to help explain it better

Quote:
The images are quite big, so the compression to get it to fit within the size limit seems to be taking around a minute. The next image is trying to load on rotation but it's still trying to load the previous one, I think that's why it looks like nothing is happening. Can you try setting the interval to something really high, like 5 or 10 minutes, and see if that makes a difference?

I tried your suggestion and initially it seemed to work, but then I found that it was getting confused between the current profile, and the previous one. It would set a wallpaper from the previous profile while I was trying to get it to load the next wallpaper in the current profile. Obviously these are extreme cases, but still strange. Again, this has only been an issue in the last couple of version releases.

Seems to possibly be a rendering pipeline issue? Like it's too slow handling large images? Could that be made more efficient somehow?

Quest 3/VR support for HDR streaming to a headset is not ideal at the moment. I sim race in VR, and before I start I have a monitor profile configured in DisplayFusion I switch to.

Every time I do this, I have to manually turn off HDR today as DisplayFusion can't configure this attribute of a display output. Given all the other things DisplayFusion supports in display profiles, the ommision of toggling HDR on/off looks increasingly odd?

I am aware of Windows 11's recent addition of a keyboard shortcut to toggle HDR (win + alt + B), but ideally this should all work off the single keyboard shortcut to switch DisplayFusion profiles.

I have a function that runs when a new window opens to move the window to the monitor holding the mouse, and to move the window near the mouse if it is small, and to move the window so it doesn't go off-screen or under the (top) taskbar I am using. Occasionally the function hangs up (haven't figured out why) and the DF Function running icon stays in the System Tray.

In previous versions of DF, I would right-click and select Stop Function and it would (I guess) stop and the icon would disappear. In DF 12.1 Beta 2, when I select Stop Function, the icon remains and when I right-click and attempt to select Stop Function, I can't, as the menu item won't highlight and clicks are ignored.
Just in case someone at Binary Fortress decides to implement this change, here are a couple of additional thoughts:

1. Re the filename list DF selects from, it would be more efficient to write the file once, randomize it, then just increment the pointer by 1 each time a new image is selected. This way there is only one disk write every 50,000 image changes (following the original posters numbers). Just keep track of the pointer in a registry entry. And when you get to the end of the list, make a new one.

2. Ideally there would be three options for how the filename list would be built:

(a) Have one single list shared by all display splits on all monitors.
(b) Have one list per monitor, so all display splits on a single monitor would share a list, but each monitor would have its own filename list.
(c) Each display split would have its own filename list (this is what DF has currently, and is the most resource intensive of the three options).

3. If you want to get fancy, you can include an option to rebuild the filename list "now".

While my expectations are low that this will ever happen, I can hope.....
